Pricing and Delivery
All of my cakes, fillings and frostings are made from scratch, with real butter (no shortening or margarine), no artificial dyes, unbleached and unbromated flour, aluminum free leaveners, with non-GMO and organic ingredients.
Gateau offers 3 types of cakes:
Bakery Cakes, Simply Sweet non-custom cake designs, Custom Cake designs.
I do not offer mini desserts, cookies or cupcakes.
1. Bakery cakes are single tier cakes with a standard design, not customized.
Presentation varies with flavor.
Available in 3 sizes.
Orders can be placed online, with a minimum 7 days notice.
The cake has 4 layers of cake, with 3 filled layers, about 4" tall.

The largest number of cake servings noted for each of the cake sizes is for a serving size 1"x2"x4" tall.
2. Simply Sweet non-custom tiered cake designs.
These cake designs were created to provide a streamlined ordering process for those that want a beautiful cake, that is more cost-effective option than a custom cake design.

Simply Sweet cake designs are not customizable, and they are priced with one cake flavor of your choice from my cake menu for all tiers. Different cake flavors for each tier are available at an additional $25 per flavor.
I do not supply fresh flowers, they are as provided by the client or the client's florist, and I place them on the cake at delivery, so they match centerpieces, bouquets and decor.

Minimum 2 (two) weeks notice, with availability. I book quickly and far in advance for wedding cakes, so please book early.
3. Custom Cakes
There is no standard price list for custom cakes as each cake is unique and therefore individually priced. The cost of your cake is determined by the complexity of the design, whether a buttercream or fondant finish, and the number of servings. I can create designs from your invitation or bridal gown design, or event theme.
You may provide inspiration photos of cake designs you like, however I do not intend to copy another cake artist's work exactly. I create my version of a desired cake design, allowing my cakes to breathe their own life. They come together organically as I assemble them.
Custom cake pricing starts at $9 per serving with a $350 minimum due to the attention and detail given to each cake.
Different cake flavors for each cake tier are included in the cost of custom cake designs, if desired.
Sheet cake is available for any additional servings needed to supplement a tiered cake.
Sheet cake is a 4" tall tier with 4 layers of cake and 3 filled layers, and has the same construction as the tiers on a tiered cake. It is given to the caterer at delivery for storage until service time, and is not displayed with the tiered cake. Bakery cake is available as needed to supplement a tiered cake at $5 per serving, $5.50 per serving for gluten free or dairy free, or vegan, with a simple buttercream finish, and is undecorated.
The number of sheet cake servings needed can be adjusted up to 3 weeks before the wedding so you do not have to worry that too much or too little cake was ordered at the time of booking.
Cake Tastings and Consultations
Consultations are not required, I also offer pick-up tasting boxes, with four (4) cake flavor samples, $30 per box, $34 for gluten free. Multiple boxes can be ordered. Dairy free and vegan sample cakes can be ordered as a 4" round cake, 4 layers, 3 filled layers, they are not available as smaller samples, at $50 each. Use the same link as for consultations to book a pick-up tasting box(es) or sample cake(s).
Once the details are determined, I email a formal estimate for review, and when approved I email an invoice for the deposit amount, with a link for secure online payment.
The non-refundable deposit to book a date is 25% of the total estimated cake cost. The number of sheet cake servings can be adjusted up to 3 weeks before the event. Changes can be made to the cake design or flavors up to one month before the wedding or event, the paid deposit would be applied to the updated balance amount. Cake flavor choice is not required at the time of booking.
The final invoice is emailed about 3 weeks prior to the wedding/event for final confirmation of details, and the balance is due 18 days prior.
Wedding cakes book at least 6 (six) to 9 (nine) months in advance and dates fill quickly. A minimum 4 (four) weeks notice is required for any custom order, with availability.
I take a limited number of cakes per week to ensure each cake receives the time and attention needed. I cannot not hold dates and I book on a first paid deposit basis.
